Duluth Seaway Port Authority names new Facilities Manager
The Duluth Seaway Port Authority (DSPA) welcomed Dean Lembke as Facilities Manager October 1. He will serve as the agency’s liaison with tenants, service and government agencies, private contractors and other property users to derive safe and efficient use of all port authority-owned land, structures, equipment and other assets.
Lembke previously was a Site Supervisor with North Shore Track overseeing rail construction and maintenance projects. For 13 years prior, he was a Senior Project Coordinator at Krech Ojard and Associates, during which time he provided 20 months of onsite construction oversight during the port authority’s $18 million redevelopment project on the Clure Terminal Expansion (formerly known as Dock C&D).
“I am very excited to be joining the port authority team,” said Lembke. “During the Clure Terminal Expansion project, I quickly recognized and appreciated the knowledge and professionalism shown by all DSPA staff. I am honored to contribute my skill set and experience to the goal of promoting, maintaining and growing the organization.”
Lembke will be responsible for establishing cost-effective, environmentally sound asset-management programs for all port authority properties. He also will work closely with the executive director and CFO on long-range planning with regard to capital improvement programs and new construction projects.
“Dean’s working knowledge of our terminal and years of construction management experience make him exceptionally qualified for this position,” said Deb DeLuca, Port Authority Executive Director. “He will be a huge asset to our team.”
Lembke, a graduate of Wrenshall High School, earned his degree in civil engineering technology from Duluth Technical College. He, his wife Laura and son Joel live in Wrenshall.
