Marine Safety Center issues ballast water management type-approval certificate to Ecochlor, Inc.

The Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued the fifth U.S. Coast Guard Ballast Water Management System Type-Approval Certificate to Ecochlor, Inc. after a detailed review of the manufacturer’s type-approval application determined the system met the requirements of 46 CFR 162.060.

The treatment principle of the Ecochlor BWTS is based on a three-step process consisting of filtering and chemical injection on uptake, along with in-tank sampling of chlorine dioxide concentrations. This approval covers fourteen models with maximum treatment rated capacities between 500 m3/h and 16,200 m3/h.

A copy of the type approval certificate may be obtained by contacting the manufacturer.
