Regional SNAME meeting taking place in Sturgeon Bay

The Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Great Lakes/Great Rivers Section is hosting its fall meeting from Wednesday-Thursday, October 5-6 at the Stone Harbor Resort and Conference Center in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The meeting launches October 5 with a reception. Presentations and the business meeting will fill the following morning. Programs highlights include presentations on cyber risk in the marine industry by Captain Andrew Kinsey of Allianz, concepts in icebreaker design by Joe Fischer of Bay Engineering and repowering the steamer John G. Munson by representatives of Key Lakes, Inc., Netsco, Inc., Atlantic CAT and Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.

Following the luncheon meeting Thursday, there will be a shipyard tour of the steam-to-diesel repowering underway on the John G. Munson at Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding.
