Seaway issues notice on Champlain Bridge construction

Work on the new Champlain Bridge in Montreal, Quebec is underway with the installation of segments over the navigation channel. Installation will continue into the fall.

Mariners are advised that during a portion of the installation of each segment, an interruption to navigation may be required.

On the days leading up to the installation, as well as on the day of installation, Maisonneuve Traffic Control will provide further information to mariners and direct traffic accordingly.

A challenging 42-month timeline has been established for construction of the new bridge, which crosses the St. Lawrence River. With delivery of the bridge set for this year, work is in full swing.
